Dear Greg,
This article made me think of myself at 26. I was a petrified, anxiety ridden new mom who found myself on the Steps unit. Even though postictal I do remember wondering “why an ink blot test now?” Anyway, I too was advised to work on myself. Great advice. People like us need specifics, not that you didn’t provide this for I or your patient. Greg, that was 22 years ago, I’m confident your advice would be the same today. This is info I wish was on your website…some days it just helps to know where to start.

Sounds like good advice for all ages! Wish I had read this before my debate with my daughter over whether she was going to wear lace-up shoes to school that she cannot tie onher own yet Should have stopped to think about what the issue was really about!

So far our 13 year old boy seems to be channelling his stress (fears, anger, sadness) in positive active ways – runing, music, game play, scouting). He seems to need to exploed now and again – verbally – but I’ve only experienced this in our home, and very seldmom. His mother has started dating, which is the fear/anger/stressor de jour.
